Proposed demo for Rodic · simulated data

Infrastructure / EPC · Use case 2

See the ripple of a drawing revision before it reaches site.

Proposed agents connect a revision to quantities, BOQ cost, purchase orders, the critical path and what is already built, then compare alternatives. The Design Lead and the Project Manager decide.

The problem

A revision is drawn in hours and felt for months.

A deeper pier cap changes concrete and steel, hits a purchase order with a long lead time, moves the critical path and may mean demolishing what was cast last week. Those effects are usually found one at a time, after issue.

  1. 01

    Quantities drift from the BOQ

Extra concrete, steel and formwork are counted late, and the variation-eligible share is argued later still.

  2. 02

    Procurement is hit blind

A changed bearing or rebar grade can push a PO past its lead time and onto the critical path.

  3. 03

    Rework hides on site

Elements already cast to the old revision become rework unless the change is caught before the next pour.

How it works

Six agents simulate. Two people decide.

Proposed Designer, Commercial, Procurement, Project Manager, Execution and Knowledge agents each assess one domain. ThoughtShieldAI keeps the lineage and the cost of the simulation.

  1. Compare revisions

Before and after elevations and sections with changed elements highlighted and numbered.

  2. Quantities & cost

m³, tonnes and m² against the BOQ, priced in ₹ and split into variation-eligible and notice-needed.

  3. Procurement & schedule

Affected POs and long-lead items; before and after Gantt with float and the critical path.

  4. Rework risk

Site status from the execution feed: what is cast, what is next to pour, and the rework per option.

  5. Design Lead and PM sign

The Design Lead picks the option and signs; the Project Manager approves the schedule change.

    Human step
  6. Change notice

Issued with numbered citations; downstream teams are notified.

The human approval

Meera Raghavan and Vikram Sethi · Design Lead and Project Manager (fictional)

The Design Lead confirms she has reviewed the evidence before signing Option B. The PM separately approves the schedule impact.

The scenario

Rev C of a pier cap drawing, simulated end to end.

Drawing C2-VD-STR-PC-1124 on the fictional Metro Viaduct Corridor C2. Carbon figures are labelled estimates from indicative factors.

  1. 01

A revision lands in the register

Rev C deepens pier caps P44–P51 from 1,800 to 2,100 mm after geotech addendum GTR-C2-019. Status: under impact review.

    The ripple, quantified

+42 m³ concrete, +6.8 t steel, +45.6 m² formwork and +₹23.6 lakh (₹15.2 lakh variation-eligible). Bearing PO-C2-4471 slips 9 days, the critical path moves 4 days, and P44 and P45 are already cast.

    Three alternatives, one cited recommendation

Option B, Fe 550D with the depth retained, costs +₹14.6 lakh and +1 day. It saves ₹9.0 lakh and 3 days against Rev C, with the reasons cited.

Questions buyers ask first

Does it replace the design engineer?

No. The agents quantify and compare. The Design Lead chooses the option and signs; the Project Manager approves the schedule change.

Where does site status come from?

In the demo, from a simulated execution feed that marks elements as cast, in progress or not started.

How are carbon figures calculated?

They are labelled estimates from indicative factors, not a life-cycle assessment.

Has Rodic deployed this?

No. This is a proposed demo with simulated data and fictional projects and people.
